PROCEDURE TEXT BESERTA LATIHAN SOAL - BAHASA INGGRIS

Procedure text termasuk dalam salah satu genre text dalam bahasa inggris. Meskipun dalam bahasa indonesia kita juga jumpai teks ini.Bagi banyak orang terutama pelajar, procedure text bukanlah hal baru, namun bagi yang belum mengetahui apa itu text procedure mari kita belajar bersama. 

Procedure text is a kind of text about how to do something, or how something is accomplished. Maksudnya, teks procedur adalah sejenis teks yang memandu kita bagaimana melakukan sesuatu atau bagaimana sesuatu diselesaikan.
Procedure text bisa berbentuk recipe ( resep ), tips ( tip atau kiat- kiat ), manual ( buku panduan ).

The purpose of Procedure text is to describe how something is made or done through a sequence of steps or actions. Atau dengan kata lain teks procedure bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan bagaimana sesuatu dibuat atau diselesaikan melalui serangkaian langkah atau tindakan.

Generic structure atau susunan dalam teks procedure adalah :

1. Goal, biasanya dalam bentuk judul ( title ) : merupakan tujuan dari teks procedure ( the purpose of procedure text
2. Materials or ingredients : bahan-bahan atau segala sesuatu yang diperlukan untuk proses pembuatan ( things are needed to make something ). Tetapi tidak semua teks procedure membutuhkan material / bahan-bahan. contohny dalam teks procedure berbentuk tips atau manual.
3. Steps or directions : langkah-langkah / petunjuk pembuatan atau penyelesaian sesuatu ( any steps  or actions / methods which are used to make or finish something.

Ciri- ciri kebahasaan atau language features of procedure text :

1. Penggunaan imperative sentences / kalimat perintah, Contoh : boil the water, chop the vegetables
2. Penggunaan conjunctions dan time connectors seperti : first, second, then , after that, next, finally,etc. contoh : first, crack the eggs
3. penggunaan kata teknis seperti: panggang, tumis, microwave, putar, dll.

Contoh procedure text dan latihan soal :

How to make Banana Muffin

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder 

1 tsp baking soda

1/2p salt

3 large bananas , mashed

3/4 cup white sugar 

1 egg

1/3 cup butter , melted

Steps :

1. Preheat oven to 170 C. Coat muffin pans with non-sticky spray, or use paper liners. Sift together the flour , baking powder , baking soda, and salt.Set aside.
2. Combine bananas, sugar , egg, and melted butter in a large bowl. Fold in flour mixture, and mix until smooth. Fill in the muffin pans.
3. Bake in preheated oven. Bake mini muffins for 10 to 15 minutes, and large muffins for 25 to 30 minutes. Muffins will spring back when lightly tapped.
